I had no idea that it was known as cocooning. Did you know that? I could have sworn I was hibernating, but there you are, you learn something new every day!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In Europe and North America at least, winter seems to have hit early and dramatically this year. The Swiss are always very good at dealing with snow, so here at least everything is pretty much functioning as normal (much to the disgust of my teenagers, who would give their right arms for a snow day).<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/images2.jpeg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1097\" title=\"images\" src=\"http:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/images2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"275\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s fairly unusual for us to have as much snow as this so early in the winter &#8211; in the lowlands at least &#8211; and it&#8217;s \u00a0having quite an effect on everyone&#8217;s moods. Somehow it just feels more wintery, more Christmassy than normal. Or maybe I&#8217;m just noticing more, because for once I&#8217;m not rushing around like a chicken with its head cut off. No roses to smell right now, but I&#8217;m certainly taking time to smell the Christmas baking, pine branches, \u00a0fragrant candles and Gl\u00fchwein. Oh and I&#8217;m enjoying sitting by the fire and reading or knitting.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;m not even feeling guilty about it.<\/p>\n<p>Helen<\/p>\n<p>(I&#8217;m hoping too that all this pre-Christmas tranquility carries on and that I won&#8217;t suddenly realize that I haven&#8217;t done half of what I should have!
