Enforced slowness, but for all that, not bad. Part of me longs to be rushing around, skiing and running, but another part of me is enjoying the enforced quietness of life. Even the children seem to have quietened and are reaching for books rather than computer games at the moment. (School only goes back next week and they will certainly be good and rested when the time comes!)

My days are filled with a little of this and a little of that, so no major progress on any one thing, but a general move in the right direction. I’m taking time every day to walk, just for half an hour or so. Today one of my daughters came with me. Unusual in itself, she then quizzed me in detail on my blog – who reads it?, how do they find it? why don’t I include family photos and information?. I think she’s secretly a little proud that her mother is doing something out there in the technological world. She even told me that she would be very impressed when I reach 1,000 hits a day. So tell your friends, I have a good way to go before I reach those dizzying heights!

This week I have time to really enjoy reading the newspaper and drinking a good cup of coffee, play a board game where the whole family joins in and the 11 year old manages to thrash the rest of us – even his father who normally always wins, or watching how the sun sparkles through the icicles hanging from the rooftop across the way.

Quiet times and good ones.

Helen

The pace of my life is very slow at the moment.
