Now I&#8217;ve got all the children at home sick, but \u00a0most of the time they&#8217;re just fast asleep in bed, fighting this horrible fluey bug. There isn&#8217;t a whole lot of nursing to be done if I&#8217;m honest! I&#8217;m feeling a little bit better, but still not great. \u00a0I&#8217;m just quietly sitting and sewing &#8211; can&#8217;t manage much more than that if I&#8217;m honest!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve finished the pinwheel quilt top &#8211; and used pretty much every last inch of my <em>Nature&#8217;s Notebook<\/em> jelly roll, plus some yellow odds and ends from my stash and about half a yard of powder blue Jinny Beyer fabric which has been in the stash for a zillion years. The pinwheel pattern is taken from Kim Brackett&#8217;s great book <em>Scrap Basket Surprises, <\/em>but my version is smaller\u00a0than Kim&#8217;s\u00a0(because I ran out of fabric!) &#8211; 12 blocks instead of 20.<\/p>\n<p>Can you imagine that I managed to make photos outside on a snow-free patio with the sun shining. (It&#8217;s all a little wrinkled because the wind kept blowing it away!)<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/21.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1382\" title=\"2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/21.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/21-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve even made the binding using left over 4 1\/2 x 2 1\/2 inch pieces of fabric &#8230; (forgive the very grotty ironing board background, which has just made me realize that I need to by a new one PDQ!)<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/4.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1379\" title=\"4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/4.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/4-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Overall, I love the fabric, but it was the wrong choice of pattern &#8211; but it&#8217;s done and it&#8217;s already been claimed! Next time I&#8217;ll be more careful about what I do with fabric collections which have a lot of mid-values.<\/p>\n<p>Now I just need to quilt it &#8211; and as it&#8217;s pretty small (48 x 60 inches), I think I&#8217;ll be able to manage it myself without too much trouble.<\/p>\n<p>Watch this space!<\/p>\n<p>Helen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Normal life as we know it has ground to a halt here.
