Firstly let me assure you that these socks are going to be fabulous. However, knitting them is not for the faint-hearted! It is certainly not for those who want to knit infront of the TV in the evening! (Or at least turning the heel isn&#8217;t!). I did quite a lot of unravelling and then realized that the heel needed 100% of my attention &#8211; and once that decision was made, they progressed quite nicely.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/CIMG2425_575x431.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-155\" title=\"CIMG2425_575x431\" src=\"http:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/CIMG2425_575x431.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"575\" height=\"431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/CIMG2425_575x431.jpg 575w, https:\/\/www.runquiltknitwrite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/CIMG2425_575x431-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 575px) 100vw, 575px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t made socks with this type of heel and gusset before. The gusset involved picking up pearl stitches every second row and then decreasing again row by row into the sole. I guess the proof of the pudding will be in the wearing as at the moment I&#8217;m in a real inbetween stage where I love the pattern, love the colour, but am not in a position to judge how the fit will be.
