Sylvan Spirit is a mix of 50% fine wool and 50% tencel, which I think makes for a nice weight – in between seasons and not too warm for centrally heated homes. The colour is great – in my humble opinion!! I knitted the smallest size which is for a 38 inch chest (which I don’t possess!) and it’s a fairly snug fit. It actually felt really nice to be knitting the smallest size. Oh how the weak are deluded….. I added about 3/4 inch on the arms and actually I could have added a little more. I don’t like arms that are too short. All in all a thumbs up from me on this one!

My slow down Sunday was just great. (Helped of course by the fact that it was Mothers’ Day and my family got organized and cooked delicious meals and even cleared everything up afterwards!). I’m really hooked on the slow concept – the day seemed so long. Almost like one of those summer days I had as a child that just seemed to go on forever. I spent the time pottering and enjoying just pottering. I had time to smell the flowers and enjoy the short-lived sunshine. I didn’t scream at anyone – not even when the kids were fighting – and I was left with an overwhelming feeling that the simple life is good. I enjoyed my day.

I also noticed that getting up this morning to get the children out to school I actually felt re-energised ready to seize the day and get lots done. No ‘oh no it’s Monday’ feelings for me.

All I can say is give it a try next weekend and see if it works for you!

Helen

My lazy Sunday left a whole lot of time for sitting and knitting – and I’m happy to announce that my sweater is now finished!
