One of the dangers of working from home as I do – particularly as my office and sewing room are one and the same – is that I have to be very strong-willed and not allow myself to be distracted too much when the day job needs to be done.<\/p>\n

Today I’m editing academic brochures. And my stars are lying on the floor.<\/p>\n

Half way through the morning instead of a coffee break I had a ‘make two stars break’.<\/p>\n

And then I looked at all the stars I had made again….and again….and again….<\/p>\n

Do you remember a day or two ago I was worried about the sameyness of the Lumiere de Noe<\/em>l fabrics? And I decided to throw in some mid-brown fabric to keep the level of contrast up?<\/p>\n

Don’t you think it sticks out like a sore thumb?<\/p>\n

I do.<\/p>\n

I don’t think it works at all.<\/p>\n

So I’m throwing it off the project and I’m going for the straight sumptousness of the reds, beiges and creams….<\/p>\n

As I should have in the beginning….<\/p>\n

Just like Nicole<\/a> told me I should. She knows what she’s doing, does Nicole. A wise woman where quilts are concerned.<\/p>\n

Now I know where I’m going, I can actually get down to some real, pay the bills type of work and stop dillydallying and dithering around letting my creative energies throw me completely off track.<\/p>\n

I’d still rather be making more stars, but then you can never have everything you want in life, can you?<\/p>\n
