Tick another one off the list!
How about this? A quick completion of a UFO I didn’t even know I had a week ago!
The foundation piecing went together like a dream and I just had enough fabric to finish it, but there was absolutely no margin for error.
I backed it with a piece of dark blue flowery fabric cut from a dress I actually remember wearing in 1982. How about that for recycling? I always loved the dress, so it was nice to be able to use some of the fabric. I bound it, but haven’t quilted it yet – which I know is all the wrong way round, but I need to buy some see-through thread to quilt it in the ditch, don’t know when that will happen and I don’t think it should be a problem quilting after the event- it’s so small. I was just too impatient to see how it would turn out to wait!
A fun little project, although I have NO IDEA where I’m going to hang it. It isn’t exactly a soothing little piece, is it?
Have a great weekend!

It looks great and I don’t think it makes a huge different at what stage you quilt a quilt that size. Lucky you that you hand enough fabric.

That turned out lovely. I’m looking forward to the paper piecing class I am signed up for at my retreat next week. Today my new Janome Horizon sewing machine gets delivered so you can guess what I’ll be doing all day – just as well as it continues to rain – but fortunately the forecast for next week is sunny.

So unique and eye-catching, Helen. Your productivity and eye for detail always amaze me. I think you could hang it someplace where someone needs to stay awake….near the desk where the kids do their homework? š It’s energizing to look at and you did a fantastic job.

This is just stunning. And it must feel great to have it completed.

I wasn’t “feeling” this piece when you first posted it, but wow, that sure changed. It is stunning. I really like the finished quilt.

It’s wonderful, reminds me of the sun, although I suppose that’s not very soothing. Lucky that you had enough fabric… I’d have been nervous about running out š

Good gracious, that was quick! I think it’s really snazzy. If it were mne, I’d put it in my hallway or kitchen where it would energise me every time I passed it.
