Today I shouldn’t have got out of bed
I’m having one of those days…
You know what I mean. The days when you’d really like to just lock yourself in the bathroom for a very long time until it’s all gone away.
They don’t happen all that often, but today there are too many things all just coming together. Puberty, the menopause and elderly parents are not a happy combination. Topping it all my dear friend is moving to a hospice and has stopped all treatment other than palliative care.
I’m shattered – by all of it – so I’m sorry I can’t come up with anything interesting and uplifting today. Even my quilting is all on hold, waiting for supplies to arrive in the mail before I can make any progress.
What do you do when life gets like this?
I’m cleaning bathrooms like it was going out of fashion.
Tomorrow is another day!

Helen, you are allowed days like this. You work so hard and accomplish so much, that I think you need no excuses to just feel all of this, even if it’s so overwhelming and painful. I’m so sorry about your friend, especially. Be good to yourself, take some time to sit and breathe (and cry if necessary), and I will pray for you today…. xxoo

Oh Helen, you have my sympathies. Life is just hard sometimes, as we know, but the knowledge doesn’t make it any easier! I echo Julie’s comments- be gentle with yourself. I’m offering up a little prayer that you and your friend are able to take each moment as it comes, and live in that moment. Lots and lots of love Penny L in Dorsetxx

Helen,
It sounds like a whopper of a time… I hope you are able to be gentle with yourself. So sorry about your friend. I hope tomorrow is a kinder day.

A great big hug – take care x
…and keep cleaning. It helps!

Big hug from France, Helen. I hate days like that too. We all get them but that doesn’t make them any easier to bear and I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. My policy with horrid days is to look forward for tomorrow … hopefully things will start to brighten up.
Oh the dreaded menopause … it sucks and makes everything else ten times worse. Hang in there. X

I can only add my sympathies to those already expressed for the situation you find yourself in. Once the cleaning is done I would sit myself down with a good book and a nice glass of wine to try to escape the worries for a little while.

Ditto.
Maybe take yourself off for a run, or something to clear your head without having to think or do stuff for other people for a while – I would obviously head for the chocolate instead, just look after you x

When I have one of those days… (and, believe me, I do… we all do) I walk outside, hard and fast, and pray for my head to be cleared and my soul to be fed so that I can shake it off and get back to being me. Remembering you and your loved one today.

Oh bugger. I wish there was something I could do to help, or the right thing to say. Huge virtual hug and I do hope that the hormonal teenagers recognise that you have an awful lot on your mind right now and give you some space to breathe.

Oh, Helen, I’m so sorry to hear you are having a bad day. I agree with everything that has been said by the other ladies. Look after yourself, relax.
A big hug from me and I hope to see you next week.

Hugs, Helen – I keep moving, just like you are. Tomorrow is indeed another day.

Take care of yourself. The loss alone, moving ionto hospice. Is a lot. Don’t underestimate it. Hugs

(((((HUGS))))) Go for a run, eat some cake, leave the teens to fend for themselves for the evening, it won’t kill them and might gain them some appreciation (and even if it doesn’t, you still got time off!)

I am so sorry about your friend. And the parents and teens and the hormones and all. I hope that you are able to find your stride again and carry on. I eat chocolate and try to sleep or I mope.

Oh Helen, I am so sorry you are having this day.
Please make sure you take care of yourself so you have the energy to deal with all these issues.
Much love & care
