Snowy and smug!
So that’s it then. Winter is well and truly with us. The ski resorts will be pleased.
We’ve had a moderate little dump of snow – 6 inches or so – and as usual all services carried on as usual, no late trains, closed schools or car accidents as a result. The Swiss certainly know how to do snow. Which is just as well really!
I’ve been making some progress – and am feeling disgustingly self-satisfied (and quite relieved) as a result!
- The quilt is basted and ready to quilt next week.
- The Secret Santa is at the post office as I write and ready to wing its way to far away parts
- The first Christmas presents have been bought and sent off. This includes those to my brother and his wife who have decided not to do Christmas (that goes with the not doing family bit), which I am ignoring, because Christmas is one of the very few times when they are forced to have contact with us and as almost our only relatives (and the only aunt and uncle my kids have) I’m not letting them off the hook that lightly! (Yes you’re right – they LOVE me!)
- I’m planning my next contribution to Stitch Tease – which is due to be sent off tomorrow…..next week, anyone? Will you forgive me?
- The house is clean(ish) and the laundry is up to date.
I’m polishing my halo!!!

We had a few flakes of snow last night but it’s melted. Cold enough for more. The not doing Christmas is weird, isn’t it. My Aunt Mabel did that too. Like you, we just ignored it. There’s no getting out of Christmas!

How beautiful your garden looks. I would say that 6 inches is just about the right amount. It’s lovely but doesn’t create chaos ;). I’m sure you are hoping for a white Christmas.

LOVE the snow. The swiss and folks from Maine (my home state) certainly know how to deal with it. And good for you for not giving up on yr brother and SIL.

What a wonderland you live in! As one who lives in a place that seldom gets snow, I am amazed by your snowy scenery. Thanks so much for posting your pics!
Now, while polishing you halo, please use your angel wings and just zoom over to the southern USA… my house is anything BUT “clean-ish” right now, but I did manage to get the Christmas tree up last night anyway… I’ll just clean around it for the next 4 weeks.

Home with two sickly kids. Laundry piles. A cold myself. Working until Christmas’ Eve and between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Already exhausted by now. Envying you and your halo and your snow ;o)))

I can see the glow from that halo reflecting off the snow all the way to my backyard.
