Sea glass and honeycomb
This weekend I finally made some knitting and sewing progress….
The sea glass quilt top is sown together. Most of these blocks were made for me by the Sew Euro-bee-an bee and then I topped up with some of my own.
It isn’t very big – a little under 5 feet by 6 feet. I’m thinking about maybe adding an extra row to make it a bit bigger. What do you think?
I got the first honeycomb sock finished too.
I used the V Junkie pattern from Alice Yu’s book Socktopus and the yarn is Smooshy Dream in the cool fire colourway. It’s seriously girly! Despite having made a zillion pairs of socks I learned a new way of making the heel – I rather like this one!
Enjoy your Sunday!

It looks fabulous Helen. It’s like some sort of secret code! Size wise, it depends on what you want to do with it. As a lap quilt, it would be fine as it is, but as a bed quilt, maybe not.

That quilt is looking great! I love the socks and I was reading back, a trip to Barcelona on business sounds very exotic.

Lovely progress Helen – and that on top of a business trip – most impressive.
I’d probably go for making the quilt a bit bigger.
The new way of making a heel looks most intriguing and I love the way the colours come together.
Enjoy your week.

The blocks looks great, depends on what you want to use it for whether you need more I suppose (she says, helpfully)
Love the name of the sock book 😀

A lovely quilt with a lovely name 🙂 I’d leave it and use it either as a single bed quilt or a topper on a double – surely it’s too pretty to actually use as a bedcover and is only for decoration?! I rather like the look of other pretty sheets poking out under a topper…
Very nice sock indeed – it’s so gratifying when you try something new and different, isn’t it?!

I love the sea glass with all those little pops of colours- like the ladies have said before, it’s lap quilt size, so it depends where you want to use it! :o)

Your quilt is exquisite – really lovely with the pops of pink. I like that size. The sock is an impressive achievement too. 🙂

I love that sock and I am a fan of bigger quilts so I vote for more blocks, unless you need a lap quilt.

Your sea glass quilt looks great, I love the pop of pink in the there. I like the size it is but then you wouldn’t be able to really enjoy it on a bed (if that’s what you’re thinking of doing).
Love the sock too. I’ve never seen a heel like that before but it looks comfy.

Lovely to see the sea glass blocks together – it’s lovely and the differnet sashing seems to cause movement. I vote for going bigger too.
