Doing bits and pieces
The weather this Easter is so inutterably disgusting that there is absolutely no point in heading up to the mountains and trying get some skiing in. Here in the foothills it’s alternating between wet snow and lashing rain, all out of a thick foggy sky. It doesn’t get a lot worse than this. Spring feels like it’s still a long way off.
So I’m hibernating at home and doing bits and pieces – finishing things off, doing all the odds and ends that have been hanging around for ages. Rather nice actually and I’m just about to go off and light a fire and light some candles before cooking curry for dinner. š
The Sea Glass quilt is taking some serious heavy duty quilting – this could take a good while to get finished. So far I’ve quilted 11 out of the 30 blocks. I really like the effect – but the quilt is starting to feel a bit armour-plated with all this quilting!! It will be more for effect than for cuddling, but that’s OK!
I’ve also finished my Honeycomb socks – and properly girlie ones they are too. These are heading off to be a surprise present. I think they will be utterly brilliant inside a pair of wellies!!

Happy Easter to you all,

Helen your quilting looks fantastic, I know that density seems to be pretty heavy but I wonder what a few washing’s will do to the softness? I haven’t experimented too much that way yet.

Too bad about your weather – we for a change are having a lovely sunnt weekend – I am almost tempted to pull the covers off the lawn furniture but I know that it is way too soon.

It’s going to snow here all day tomorrow, so guess where I will be! The quilting looks wonderful!

Thankfully it’s finally stopped precipitating either white stuff or wet stuff here, but the wind is still bitter, so I’m not venturing out!
Love what you’ve achieved during your incarceration!

One wash and dry and that quilt will be very cuddly, and it looks beautiful too.

The quilting looks amazing but my first thought was it would take forever to do it. Well done you for persevering because it is going to be such a great finish. Enjoy the rest of Easter weekend.

I love the pebble quilting you’ve done on your quilt. I’ll have to try that technique on my next quilt.

Although I am late, I still love seeing your projects. Those socks are what brought me to your blog in the first time, nearly 2 years ago!

Happy Easter Helen. Pity about you’re shocking weather. It’s been lovely here in South Australia. Low 20s and not too much rain. Autumn feels like its finally come. We’ve spent the weekend catching up with friends and jobs around the garden and house too. Clearing out, tidying up and cleaning. It actually feels good to get a good run at it, so I haven’t minded at all.
