Autumn Mists
There is a real feel of autumn in the air at the moment. Even if the sight of pumpkins everywhere didn’t give the game away, there is a chill in the morning air and sometimes mists which only clear by lunchtime . We haven’t had any night frosts yet to speak of, so only the very tips of the trees are changing colour, but it’s only a matter of time. By next week autumn will be well and truly here.
I am resisting like mad an incredible urge to knit socks. It doesn’t help that I have a basket of lovely sock wool right by my desk, but so far I’m staying strong. I have so many other projects to finish first. My tiny cubbyhole office and sewing room is fast running out of floor space as there are batting and unfinished projects, yarn and fabric piles all over the place. It’s actually starting to make me feel a bit overwhelmed – that and the zillion other things going on in my life right now. I’m feeling the need for some zen – having visitors and too much going on does sometimes do this to me. I’m itching to clear the decks and have some space and air in my life. Quiet simplicity and time to potter – that’s what I need….
And then some serious sock knitting and sitting by log fires in the evening will be done. I can’t wait!
