An adventure in Frauenfeld

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

Today I had a day out in Frauenfeld. That’s about and hour and a half away from where I live. I took this train and then two more – all of course running perfectly on time. This is Switzerland after all!

I hadn’t been to Frauenfeld before – it’s a small town that seems to have everything – lots of history…here’s the castle…(built in the 1300s)

lots of pretty houses….

charming bakeries, chocolate shops and outdoor restaurants.

For a small town it certainly seems to have everything!

But the most exciting bit was meeting Mel – who I met through the blog (and who didn’t want her photo taken). Needless to say we got on like a house on fire – barely drawing breath for about four and a half hours and each confessing that we were a little concerned that we might be setting ourselves up to meet an axe murderer….

but Mel wasn’t an axe murderer …she was an English knitting lady with a lovely dog who I have oodles in common with…

Watch this space…

There will be more adventures with Mel in the future…

Thanks for a lovely day!

Helen

Oh days out with friends – old or new – they’re the best! I love it when you chat and chat and time passes all too quickly. Looks like you had a lovely time in a picture perfect place!

Now that is SO exciting! When I pop back, we will have to get together too. And how lovely to discover somewhere new.

PS My wool shop in E has CLOSED. I am in mourning.

Isn’t that just the best; meeting someone new and have the feeling that you knew each other for donkey’s years? Hurray for blogging!!!
