It fits!!!!
Phew! I’m breathing a big sigh of relief. Despite going astray once – how did that happen? – and having to unravel and reknit a little, my turtle neck is now finished – and it fits just perfectly and I like it! I think this sweater is going to turn out to be a really good in-between type of weight. When the weather was hot and sunny and I was pottering around the garden in a T-shirt I was feeling just a little silly about knitting a winter sweater as we head towards summer. This week we’ve having never-ending torrential rain so it really doesn’t seem like such poor timing after all. We won’t mention that by the time the sleeves are done it will be swimsuit season…..
I haven’t knitted a turtle neck on a circular needle before and it really had me pretty concerned as all the stitches were pressed up together and it just looked, well, too small to fit an adult head through. I have to admit that those clever people at the Green Mountain Spinnery knew what they were doing though!
I really must learn just to relax, enjoy and trust knitting patterns and as my husband says (frequently), not be such an old worrier. Maybe I’d have less frown lines if I followed his advice!
Now its on with the sleeves….
Helen
