One done, one to go….
I can now proudly present…
… one very pretty sock, she says modestly….
It really is very nice – and I can recommend Jennifer L. Appleby’s pattern (which you can find in Favorite Socks 25 Timeless Designs from Interweave). It is a well-written and very neat pattern. Thumbs up from Switzerland!
The cable pattern is simple and subtle, and rather charming….
I’m starting to think that I may well have enough yarn to finish, so am being very brave and haven’t run off to the yarn shop this morning. I guess once I finish the second ball – hopefully before too long – I will see whether I’m in big trouble or not. Please continue to keep your fingers and toes crossed for me!
No news from the intrepid camper, which I guess is a good sign!
Now it’s back to the needles,
Helen

Your son is probably having so much fun that one arm could be hanging off and he still wouldn’t want to come home. My son was in a boy scout troop when we were stationed in Germany in the 80’s. I was an assistant scout master. The closest I came to camping was when we took the troop for Berlin in January 1998 to hike the historical trail. The Berlin Wall came down eight months later. For years I was convinced that those boys were NATO’s secret weapon.

Beautiful! Now won’t these be fun to wear. I just have to learn to knit socks.
