Unexpected
I’ve been working on my stars. And you’ll never guess what I discovered. Without the solid and striped reds – which I swore blind I wouldn’t use – it was DULL, DULL, DULL!
I thought the red would dominate, but now that I’ve started using it, I actually think it’s just what this quilt needs. It’s actually not as dark as it’s come out on the photos.
All of which means that yes, fabric designers do have more of an idea than I do!

When I saw a red strippy block on it’s own I thought ‘Oh no, that will never do’ but now the blocks are together, I agree, the quilt needs them. It is going to be beautiful!

Oh I like it!! It`s not at all subdued is it and I agree it needs the red. Quite Americana.

I like it and it is coming together quickly. I think the stripe and red look really good.
