Progressing nicely and I’m starting to run out of suitable fabric…swoon!
Fun to do, but it’s not going to take over from knitting and quilting – it’s terrible for my back!!

I would love to learn how to do this! What a gorgeous rug you’ve made, Helen. You have a way with color, that’s for sure. xxoo

This is lovely! And such a clever way of using up stuff in your stash that you don’t love any more. I am a strict “first in first out” stash user (must be the accountant in me) to try to make sure none of my fabric gets truly ancient but the problem with this is that I am never sewing with the brand spanking new fabric that I am most excited about. I think I may be due a fabric-buying moratorium soon. Although I have just bought pots of Rouenneries Deux!

This is unbelievable. How are your fingers holding up? I just read on another blog that a woman makes these out of old clothes and jeans. She uses the jeans for the vertical pieces and says the rug will last 20 years. Really makes me want to try it, but once you said it hurts your back, I was out. You did a beautiful job.

That looks fantastic, so pretty – who’d have thought it would turn out to be such a good use of fabric that would have cluttered you up for who-knows-how-long?!! And it’ll be even better with washing, no doubt, these things usually are… Brilliant!

It really is gorgeous! Maybe I should start on my huge mountain of fabric-I-will-never-ever-use!

Excellent – hope you don’t end up with a gap in the middle!

Loving your rug. Wondering if you might share how you work the edges? I purchased the book and built the loom but for the life of me can’t decifer the directions to accomplish a neat edge. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Debbie
