What I should be doing this afternoon

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012
  • 1. Emptying the compost heap
  • 2. Cutting back the apple tree
  • 3. Clearing everything in the garden that didn’t quite get cleared up in the autumn
  • 4. Finishing clearing out my wardrobe
  • 5. Baking bread and making soup for dinner
  • 6. Writing invoices
  • 7. Cleaning bathrooms

Here is what Bumble Bee and I are actually doing this afternoon…

20 degrees in late March. Unheard of and far too good to waste. Reading, knitting and enjoying the warm sunshine šŸ˜‰

Helen

PS Thank you so much for all the lovely ballerina, rug and bath-related comments! I think I might well be starting another rug for the shower room soon and might even get as far as doing a tutorial for those who are interested!

Ooooh Helen a tutorial would be great – only if you can fit it in between you reading, knitting & sunbathing – sounds like a perfect way to enjoy these lovely March days.

I love the rug! and would love to see a tutorial. This is my first time commenting on your blog – sorry, I’m a “lurker” because I’m usually reading you at work.
But just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog!

Of course that`s how you should be spending a beautiful afternoon. It can all wait – that`s my motto!

I am so impressed with how beautiful the rug turned out – and what a nice soaking tub! You deserve a nice day in the sun to read and knit….you are never going to be someone who loafs, Helen. šŸ™‚ xx

Ah…that was my intention, too. Only I had work all afternoon and only just finished (7 pm).
Still, can’t complain – I had a beautiful, sunny ride this morning instead šŸ˜‰
But I had to smile at your garden set-up – so like mine! Surprise surprise… LOL

Lovely spring here too – 26 degrees C – even took my bike out for a spin. Bumple Bee looks as though she is dancing.

Certainly was a beautiful day here too xxx

Lovely sunny Spring day here in Cheshire,UK too. I’ve actually put my knitting down to enjoy a bit of gardening as I can’t waste a beautiful dry day! So by the end of the day I’ve got a brand new herb bed all planted up and my vegetable plot is all turned over ready for planting…a very successful day, except my back’s killing!! Need to loosen up quickly as I have a half marathon on Sunday.

    Happy knitting.
    Fleur xx

I’d love to see a tutorial on the rug – it is lovely and it would be fun to use up my outdated fabrics to make something both useful and pretty. Enjoy your sunshine!

I want to come and sit in you garden and have a total girl time knitting fest. I want to absorb all your knitty knowledge. I was in Marrakech this week with Annabella, so I guess I can pop over to you pretty fast. All those other things will still be there after you have had a relaxing afternoon. Do them another day.
