EEEEP EPP BEE
I’ve joined an English paper piecing bee – now there’s soemthing I haven’t done in, oh…a zillion years or so….but Annabella twisted my arm and I’m in. In the EEEEP EPP BEE to be precise. You can see what we’re up to over on flickr, right here. My month is September, so I have to get my skates on and think of a plan by the middle of August!
Today I’ve made a start on the first block – Treasure Chest in jewel colours against black. It’s been altogether very soothing on a day when I needed some soothing. That’s the great thing about sewing and knitting, isn’t it? It calms everything down. It gives me time to ponder and to try to put things in perspective. And at the end of the pondering, there’s something nice to show for the time spent.
On a happy note – all the children passed the school year and the sun is shining. I’ve been cleaning and washing and gardening and trying to introduce some order round here. Standards had slipped a bit recently….but I’m onto it. I love how a clean house does wonders for my spirit!

Your fist block looks great. I love EPP, but I’m now gluing the papers instead of basting them. Much faster and easier.
Congratulations to all of your kids. Now mum can relax and enjoy the holidays too. Don’t overdo the cleaning though!

This will be a fun bee to follow along. I hope things stay a little calm for you.

I’ve fallen in love with paper piecing too – the hexagon part of my table runner is almost done and now I am contemplating a small border of paper pieced flying geese.
I can now also uncross those toes (the fingers having been otherwise occupied with the aforesaid hexagons) knowing that all of your teens have successfully completed their school year – congratulations to all but most of all “Mum” who held it all together!!!!!!
By the way when you’ve finished cleaning your house you are more than welcome to come over here – it has been way too hot and humid for any cleaning.

Looks lovely, I have been looking at EPP in a whole new light lately, especially as my machine is still not working!!!
Speaking to a techie tomorrow so wish me luck!
Cheers

So glad you’re enjoying this – I wished I’d joined in too! I even got Bridget, my SIL interested last night!

Yay to all the children passing!! Now go sit in the garden and do your peaceful epp. The house will still be there on rainy days.

Ooh, I like your fabric choices! I have come to the conclusion that if there is one thing my stash is lacking, it is jewel colours. I have managed enough for one block, but will need a trip to the shop before I can start on the next one…

Well done to the children. What a great way to end the school year.
