Roofs and back gardens
Don’t you just love looking at people’s back gardens – or am I the only nosy one? Somehow back gardens tell you so much about people’s lives. I took these photos at the weekend in Rapperswil, a small town with a castle on a hill in the centre, on the lake of Zürich. I’d love to live in the middle of this old higgledy piggledy town. I could see me in one of those little back gardens, couldn’t you? I’d choose one of the ones with a little bridge if it was up to me! I’m not sure how I’d feel about nosy people with cameras up at the castle keeping an eye on me though….

*sigh* I get jealous when I see your pictures of such beautiful places in Switzerland! It just looks magical. I’m sure there are the same everyday stresses and strains but if you lived in that lovely higgledy piggledy town I’m sure if it all got too much you could just look out of the window and go *ahhhhh….*

Oh I love looking in to people’s back gardens – especially on the train going in to London from Clapham Junction, imaging what veveryone is up to. I can’t do it so easily here as the tradition is to have a high wall, which you can’t look over. Pretty photos Helen!

I am partial to these kinds of photos too. Love rooftops, especially in Europe. In the US, not so much
