Why did I open my big mouth?
I should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER have opened my big mouth and said that Christmas preparations were ticking along nicely here on the hill.
Please tell me not to do that again…
Of course, you’ve guessed it, the lurgy has struck. I think I have the flu. It certainly feels like the flu. My head hurts, I ache all over and I woke in the middle of the night with the sore throat to end all sore throats.
Do you think if I give up and go to bed the two youngest teenagers will look after me? The oldest one, who might, has taken to her bed and my better(?) half is in Geneva and not back till tomorrow.
I want someone to make me chicken soup and look after me.
I realize this may be asking too much. Way, way too much.
But a girl has to hope….
Helen

Oh Helen, I am so sorry you are ill. Moms are not allowed to get sick especially at Christmas. You must not have received the memo. Take care and Christmas will happen whether you are ready or not. xoxo

Ow, poor Helen! I wish I could bring you the chicken soup I have in my freezer just for occasions like these… Please take care of yourself and rest plenty. Like Diane says, Christmas will happen whether you are ready or not.

Oh poor you! I do hope rest helps beat those germs into submission quickly. Best of luck getting the teenagers to tend to you!

It never fails – those nasty bugs find us at the worst times. Hope you will be feeling better in no time. Take to your bed for a day or two – surely the young ones can manage to make some “dried” chicken soup or open up a can. As others have said wish I was closer so that I could pop over with some.

Welcome to the club! I’m also “stuck down” and now even worst has husband (aren’t they a pain when they are sick?). Just found him in the kitchen making himself hot milk with honey and BUTTER???? He said that’s what his mum gave him when he was sick. I nearly got sick looking at it. I’m sticking to echinacea and Panadol ;)! I hope you feel better soon.

Hope you feel better soon. I’m in the same boat at the moment and am panicking at the fact that time is ticking away and I have so many things to do. People might get chocolates instead of handmade this year š
