Dithering Rouenneries
This is my next project. Isn’t it so good you could eat it? It’s Rouenneries Deux by French General. I love, love, love the combination of the browns and beiges and that lovely rich red.
I’d actually set this afternoon aside to get started.
And have I?
Nope.
All I’ve done is dithered around looking at pattern books and not making my mind up. This is such a traditional fabric line that I just can’t see it with anything modern. I can’t make stars again. Well I could, but I’ve rather done stars to death over the past couple of years and a little variety wouldn’t be a bad thing…..
Watch this space. I’m determined to do SOMETHING this afternoon. I need to stop the faffing and make a decision!

What about something like a star but different – say the Swoon pattern?

Jo from “Jo’s Country Junction” made a beautiful (and easy! and free! and no stars!) quilt tutorial for Moda Bake Shop called “Chain of Faith” that would look gorgeous in these colors! Glad that I am not the only one who makes BIG PLANS for quilting the day away and then gets sucked-into quilt books and playing with her fabric!

I spent the day cleaning house & now I am knackered!! May get to go to the garret later but not counting on it š
Whatever you make will be beautiful and I know how you feel with the stars seems like this is the only pattern I love, which is in effect true LOL

I have absolutely the same problem – I have a metric tonne of Rouenneries Deux after almost running out of Rouenneries the first time round, and I love the fabrics individually but can’t seem find the right pattern for it. Let me know when you work out what works with it!

Gorgeous fabrics. Can’t wait to see what pattern you choose for them.

It’s the evening. I presume it is all pieced now. š

I agree with Annabella about considering Swoon. Have a look at Cozy Little Quilts website – she’s made a beautiful Swoon with Rouenneries which could be the one I make… after making one like the Bear’s Paw you made your mother… after I finish the ones I have on the go…

Hello, I’m a new reader – I found you through Linds at Rocking Chair Reflections. I live in Zurich and love quilting, but have not done a bit in years and years.
These colors are lovely and very inviting. Good luck with your decision.

Love Rouenneries! Yes I would eat it! Have you seen some of the free block of month on blogs? I think it would great in the blogger girls block of month quilt, offered by Open Gate quilts. It’s a free one too.
