Sock Test Drive
I know I have raved ad infinitum about Evelyn A. Clarke’s Retro Rib Socks pattern (which can be found in Favorite Socks 25 Timeless designs from Interweave). I promise that this will be the last time!
Today, as it is foul and rainy and I got soaked going for a run, I decided to test drive these socks. Let me tell you: they are THE BEST! They don’t fall down….they really don’t fall down….and there is enough natural elasticity in the rib pattern that they keep their fit around the ankle and foot and don’t stretch right out by the end of the day. I love, love, love them!
They are not the prettiest socks, but I can tell you…these socks have real class. You could give anyone these socks with pride!
What can I say, other than that I am ecstatic!
On a more salutory note, I have been ripping out the luminous socks and have started again on smaller needles. They would have fitted an elephant.

Are you wearing sunglasses while you “unknit” those socks? I work occasionally in search and rescue and that would be a really practical vest for tramping in the woods, especially now during hunting season. You are really wearing down my resistance not to attempt knitting socks (as she looks around a cluttered sewing room with multiple half-finished projects.) I haven’t picked up knitting needles since high schools.

Oh, how I wish I could knit socks! I bet they go together super quick and the variety of yarns you could try is endless. I love to wear socks around the house instead of slippers during the winter, so I would get so much use out of them. I think I need to go to my local knitting shop and see if I can get some lessons. I MUST move on beyond scarves and try something more difficult.
