Stitch Tease…the big unwrap!
Those of you who stop by regularly will know that for the past year or so I’ve been taking part in the Stitch Tease bee – a top secret bee that is a little different from your average bee.
My co-bee-ers are a talented bunch…you probably already know some of them: Annabella from Life’s Rich Pattern, Susan from Canadian Abroad, Hadley from Flying Blind on a Rocket Cycle, Di from Quiltova, Danny from Mommy for Reals, Katy from The Littlest Thistle Craft Shop and last but not least the queen bee Di from Random Thoughts Do or Di. You might want to take a look over at their blogs today as they will be showing their quilts too.
This bee started with each of us making a couple of large blocks or a strip and telling the others what we wanted.
I started off with this…
Wonky stars on a base of kona ash
And this is what came home to mama last week….and all I can say is that my photos aren’t great and this is way more beautiful in person!
Isn’t it amazing…..I LURVE IT!!!
Now I’m supposed to show you photos of all the blocks I made, but due to my chaotic and non-existant photo filing system these were all I could find…..it’s even possible that I didn’t make photos of the rest…which is a really poor show, but if you check out the other blogs you will see how wild and crazy some of the quilts turned out!
Here’s what I have anyway!
For Susan…
For Katy…
For Annabella…
And here’s Danny’s quilt, which I sewed together (I made the wonky star stripe in the middle!)
This has been a great bee..the best, really! Great people, huge amounts of talent, people kept to deadlines and we have really got to know each other (that’s the VERY best bit). I met Katy, Susan, Hadley and Quiltova Di at FQR and this year Queen Bee Di will be there too…now I just have to chase down Danny and Annabella!
Round Two is about to start and I can’t wait!!

Since I am a newbie to your blog, this is all brand new stuff to me – but my goodness that is a beautiful quilt. And all the photos, they just make me happy.
Glad you were able to get outside and work in the sunshine. Sadly, since I have returned from all my travels, I came down with a whopping head cold. The only time I enjoyed the sunshine was when I walked the dog a few times. Hoping for better days ahead, health wise.
have a good week

I really love that you chose these wonky stars for your quilt. They were a joy to make and I can see by the final reveal that the entire quilt is gorgeous. I know you will work your FMQ magic on it and I hope to see it at FQ Retreat. It has been so wonderful to get to know you over the last year and I look forward to round 2 and also meeting in July.

I loved putting together your quilt. I honestly didn’t have any Kona Ash in my stash until I made yours and I totally love it now. Have to always keep it on hand. So glad I was able to contribute to your beautiful quilt!

I follow all of these blogs and I’ve been eagerly waiting to see the reveals. You’re a lovely bunch of ladies who always respond to my comments, and I think you’re all so lucky to have become great friends. It’s interesting how different all of your quilts are. Your wonky star quilt is lovely, and I agree with Katy, constellations have been created. Who put together the top for you?

I lurve your quilt top too! I’m a bit sad I don’t get to participate in any mystery-sewing, but I am still very happy to be included in your bee:)
