Simplicity

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

Here’s hoping you are waking up to a bright new day and a new year full of potential. My wish for all of us this year is that we are able to live the life we want to lead as much as we can and that (most important of all) we stay healthy.

I’m not going down the resolutions path this year as I have discovered that I write basically the same list every year and never manage to stick to it. Instead I’m having a theme for the year:

SIMPLICITY

This encompasses a lot of how I want my life to be. I want to make sure that I take time to smell the roses every day – even on days where there are no roses! I’m going to try to take life at a slower pace, where I can really recognize and enjoy the little things in life. I’m also going to use up what I have before I buy new, particularly as I have a fabric stash that will last three lifetimes and it would be a shame not to use all that gorgeous stuff!

I found this ABC of Genuine Happiness over at Bonnie’s blog a couple of days ago and while it covers a huge amount I think it’s certainly a pointer in the right direction:

I think we should all aim for happiness. Life is short and happiness is mostly about the simple things in life – and not the big shopping trips!

Happy New Year!

Great ABC! I have copied it and saved it on my computer so I can look at it from time to time to refresh my memory! Happy New Year to you too. Vreni x
