I have a little problem….

(Sock Hop Yarn from Crown Mountain Farms for Wildfiber (colour unknown but divine); a pattern of my own concoction which may prove to be a little smooshy in the angle as things look at present)

See what I mean?

I just can’t help it….

There’s something about knitting socks that is totally irresistible, but lets face it, how many pairs of socks does a girl need?

I know my sock patterns off by heart. Sometimes I dream about them. I’m continually tweaking as I try to find the elusive perfect sock.

I have no resistance where sock yarn is concerned and I admit that my socks make me deleriously happy. This little sidetrack happened when I was tired and bamboozled from fiddling around with pinwheels and was enormously calming.

Aren’t sock yarns just great? All the yarns in crazy and improbably colours that you could never get away with wearing as a sweater are just perfect for your feet. Creativity and craziness can run wild without you ending up looking  like a rather strange handgestrickte remnant from the 1960s. Acceptable eccentricity.

Eric will no doubt find this a little sad. He (my one male reader) has already told me that he doesn’t get the sock thing.

Sock-knitters anonymous anyone?

Helen

Lovely colour!! Sometimes we need to step aside from something to give it time to gel – I am sure that when you go back to the pinwheels things will fall into place. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. We’re having a very cold but sunny day – good to stay home, read, figure out the border for my “Purple Passion” quilt and read before starting supper.

Very pretty yarn. Sign me up for the SK anon. club!

Eric just needs to make one pair, and he’ll be enamored too. Tell him it’s like kissing for the first time… a little tentative at first, but ya keep at it and get better and better until you believe you discovered sock knitting yourself. LOL
