And here’s a little something I made earlier…
These are secret socks, which I couldn’t show you until they had fought their way through the (rather slow) German postal system and arrived as a rather belated birthday present.
Pattern: Embossed Leaves Socks by Mona Schmidt in Favorite Socks 25 Timeless Designs from Interweave. (even more proof that I couldn’t live without this sock book!). I substituted in my own favourite variation of heel and toe.
Yarn: Merino Superfein by Lana Grossa in colour 463 – forget-me-not blue to you and me. Lovely and soft. I will report back on how it wears at some point in the future.
Otherwise we seem to be dropping like flies here. One sickly waif sent home from school and one rather larger waif on his way home from work with a heavy cold. I’m feeling quite rough myself – but I don’t think it’s the flu. More like a horrible heavy cold. Last night I couldn’t sleep for the pain in my sinuses – they are a bit better today though.
Outside its way below freezing. The trees are covered in thick rime frost and there isn’t the slightest movement in the air. The sky is as white as the trees, but I think it’s probably way too cold to snow. So the best thing is to stay home, light the fire and eat comfort food.
And that’s just what we’re going to do!

I hope you get better soon – all of you. Home in front of the fire is the best place to be. So just relax and heal…..

Hope you all feel better real soon. The sky is white here too and there are the odd snow flakes flying around – my better (???) half is off to the doctor to see about a nagging cough so we’ll be having some comforting food here too when he gets back. I shouldn’t complain we seem to be spared from the storms that are hitting some of the US states and southern Ontario. Hope it stays that way my Quilt Guild is having a Quilt-A-Thon tomorrow and I want my team to win (I know what the price is as I am on the Executive).

Gute Besserung…!!
Lana Grossa merino superfein is my absolute favourite classic yarn to use for almost anything ;)) Never tried it for socks, though… hm…
