No staying power…
305 4-patches!
Was I dreaming?
305?
That’s an awful lot for someone with the attention span of a flea…
…..or a butterfly… (I’ll take butterfly – it sounds much nicer..)
It’s not that I don’t have self-discipline. I do. But just not in one big block. I’m the sort of person who comes back to things, again and again. Little bits of time…over and over…and in the end everything gets finished. I very seldom start something that doesn’t make it to completion…eventually. It just takes time.
I just can’t start cleaning the house in the morning and work until it’s all done or start on garden work and actually finish everything that needs to be done. JUST….CAN’T….DO…IT. I get bored.
I’d love to be the sort of person that starts at the beginning and works through until the end. As in this case – make 305 4-patches, make 100 triangle squares, then make a huge number of star points…in that order without flitting off and getting sidetracked.
I’m much more a little bit here, little bit there sort of person. Very organized – I really am – but in little bites. And I do get there in the end – but often by a rather roundabout path. Which is quite nice, if I’m truthful, and means I don’t get bored. Maybe that’s why things do get finished, now I come to think about it.
I guess we’re all different and we need to know the way that works best for us – and what other people do doesn’t really matter.
Anyway, here are the two blocks for the quilt – which I was sidetracked into making! Nice huh! This is turning out to be a great stashbusting quilt. Which is always very fulfilling….as you all know…
I would still like to be a disciplined person though, but I think it may be too late!

It’s looking good! And you description of your work style matches mine exactly. I often think that I might have a kind of ADD, especially when it comes to quilting. Good to know that I’m not the only one ;). Cheers Vreni

Count me in too – I have way too many interests to stick with one thing for a long time, except for reading. Once I start a book I cannot put it down and resent it when I am interrupted for such unimportant things as meal times.

I really like those blocks! Helen I think you just like to savor your projects…..why rush through them. I have several projects underway at this moment all at different stages……they will all get done in good time.
