Good intentions

Saturday, March 5th, 2011

Some days just go west before they’ve even started. Today I don’t think I managed to one single thing off my list – it’s just been a complete write-off. I’ve nursed a headache and helped with an awful lot of homework that someone should have started a very long time ago, I re-shopped for the things I forgot when I shopped the first time and also bought a new ironing board cover which the lady in the shop swore blind was the right cover for my board – and which is actually miles and miles to big and will have to be returned.

I’m beginning to think I should have stayed in bed and read my book all day. It would have been more rewarding.

On the other hand, an almost finished book report, where I have cajoled and motivated but not written one single word myself, does count as something of a success. There were a few tears of frustration (his, not mine) along the way, but I think some big lessons were learned – not least of the don’t you dare leave your homework till the last minute and the it’s hard to write a book report when you’ve left the book at school variety.

Sometimes life just gets in the way. Normal service will hopefully be resumed as soon as possible!!!

I’m now retiring to knit socks and contemplate the meaning of life.

Oh that brings back memories of evenings when I was just about ready to go to bed and “someone” needed help with a project for school, which of course was due the next day. I can’t say that I miss those days.
Let us know once you’ve figured out the meaning of life, I’m eager to know!!

This all sounds so familiar …
Hope the head clears up – I’m a headachey person too so I can truly sympathise.
You’re getting lots done, just not the things you’d planned, which is perfectly normal.
Hang in there – nearly Spring!
