Drawing breath and pottering…

Friday, April 8th, 2011

This week was such a busy one. I seemed to be chasing my tail everyday. There was a lot of work and friends to see, but a two day migraine rather put a damper on things and made me realize that I was DOING TOO MUCH. That’s so often the way isn’t it. The body just says ‘no way, Jose’ and that’s it.

Anyway, it was on reflection a good and productive week and I’ve enjoyed some lovely times with friends old and new.

Now the weekend has come around and I see how much I really need to potter and draw breath. I need to just get things under control again. The weather should be wonderful so I’ve made a start on some planting in the garden and I’m planning a lot more over the next couple of days. I went back down to the lovely new garden centre this morning and bought their special offer – a whole selection of Duftpflanzen (aromatic plants) in pinks and blues to revitalize my aromatic garden, which has gradually become less aromatic as the years have gone by. I also finally, finally found a firebush – something I’ve been looking for for years – so I’m thrilled with that.

There’s something so calming and reflective about pottering – in the house and out – and I can’t wait.

I may even finally get some sewing done too. There’s been a bit of a drought around here recently and my fingers are itching!

Have a nice weekend – and take some time to smell the spring flowers – I will be!

Helen

Sorry to read you haven`t been feeling so well Helen. Hope the Duftpflanzen do the trick.

Hi Helen, you certainly have had a busy week. sorry to hear that you are one of the unfortunate ones who suffer from migraines – my sister and step-daughter both do so I know how incapacitating they can be.
Enjoy your weekend but don’t overdo!!!!

Glad to hear you’re better. I’ve had some rotten headaches lately too, but gone now, thank goodness. Have fun with your plants. I’m set to get planting tomorrow, if all goes to plan (big IF!). Have a lovely weekend, X
