A start
I spent absolutely ages yesterday and this morning looking through my collection of books and patterns, not to mention the internet, for the perfect pattern for Bliss. There were no earth-shattering aha moments, but never one to give up without deciding on something, I decided to work with a pattern I already have: The Thimble Blossoms Picnic Rollup by Camille Roskelley. I’m not going to make a picnic rollup because I’m really not the sort of girl that would ever use a beautiful quilt as a picnic tablecloth. Not with my family around anyway.
The plan so far – which may change as I go along – is to use the basic block pattern, but I will do the sashing differently – probably with Bliss squares in the corners and take it from there.
So I’ve had a very pleasant couple of hours this afternoon putting the first few blocks together and using some of my mountain of jelly roll 2 1/2 inch strips. So far, so good. I’m liking what I see, but I’m feeling just a tiny bit guilty about starting something else new when I’ve got loads of other UFOs queuing up for some attention…..oh well, c’est la vie!
Now back to work….

I love your blocks. I have some Bliss that I am saving for just the right project, too. I think sometimes we just need to start something new especially when we have pretty fabrics just waiting to be used.

You seem to work at breakneck speed, Helen. I don’t know how you do it!
