Otello…buttonless but finished
Tadaaa!
Here it is!
Otello by Louisa Harding. Arms extended by 2 1/2 inches and now just about the perfect length. If there’s one thing I can’t abide, it’s sweaters and cardigans with short arms. Otello’s arms already looked short on the pattern, so I took drastic action…and paid the usual price…worrying that I would have enough yarn to finish, but I did, so it was worth it! What I really like about this cardigan is that although it’s knitted in a bulky wool, it doesn’t feel bulky. So no dreaded sack of potatoes feeling!
The yarn is Lamb’s Pride Bulky (85% wool, 15% mohair) in Blue Magic. Lovely. This time the photo is fairly true to colour – nice, soft, dusky blue.
Can you see I’m wilting in the heat. 32 degrees. Way too hot for a northern girl like me…and what am I doing wearing a warm cardigan. Barmy. The things I do for my blog!

That really turned out well – it looks wonderful on you. I’m sure you will get a lot of use out of it.
Took a quick look at the garden and told the veggies that they would just have to battle it out with the weeds – it is just too HOT and HUMID to do anything about them. We’re heading for 40 degrees today. After a necessary outing to the village I intend to stay put in my air conditioned home until these silly temperatures are gone.

You finished that so fast! The sweater looks beautiful and so do you.

Really really lovely! And very quick! I am also frequently annoyed by too-short arms on garments. Sometimes I wonder if I have abnormally long arms!
As an exiled Northener living in the SE, my major challenge (aside from getting people to understand my accent) is coping with the occasional hot spells down here like we had last week. I can’t cope with very close weather. Conversely my neighbours don’t seem to be able to cope with rain – they put umbrellas up when it is not even drizzling – in my book it is just a bit of atmospheric moisture!
Really enjoying your prolific output at the mo – long may it continue! Can’t wait to see your next project.

It looks lovely, and I’m sure the finishing was spectacular. The shoulder line looks very tailored, with no lumpy bits, so I’m sure you did a great job fitting the sleeves in and sewing the seams. (I looked at this cardigan in the book several times and wasn’t that impressed, but it looks much nicer in your version.)

Wonderful job! It looks great.

Great job, Helen! Fits beautifully; you should be proud. Most ready made sleeves are too long for me. I must have little shorty t-rex arms!

Beautiful. And so is the cardi! What a lovely photo of you. X

What a brilliant cardigan although it fits like a tailored jacket – a cardicket or a jackigan? You look lovely too but then we knew that!
