The good, the bad and the ugly

The good

  • My mother found the passport and the savings book that she thought had been stolen at the weekend.
  • The British police were magnificent – kind, patient and very reassuring to a shaken elderly lady.
  • My camera has turned up!! Thanks to Lindsay who disguised it as very un-camera-like so nobody would steal it along the way!

The bad

  • My mother is still pretty shaken up – in fact more so today than earlier in the week – I think what has happened is all sinking in.
  • The rotten scumbags who robbed her seem to have got away with about £500 in total – £300 of which was on a credit card which will be covered by the bank.
  • A similar attack on another old lady took place on Sunday not too far away…so the rotters are still at it.
  • Due to the general turbulence no gentle Advent preparations or sewing of any kind has taken place, so I now feel horribly behind.

The ugly

  • Me…after two sleepless nights.

It can only get better from here…right?

Helen

So sad when the evil pick on the elderly! I’m glad your mum is safe, but I can imagine how shook up she might feel. Not a very Good thing for a Christmas mood, I know. Hopefully, all will settle soon.
    Glad the camera arrived.
Many blessings to you and your family!

Glad to hear documents and camera have turned up, but sorry the after-effects are worse than we’d hoped.
Fingers crossed some Christmas cheer comes everyone’s way for some positivity x

Great your camera has arrived, and wonderful that your Mum has found the passport and savings book. I think shock is setting in, and this is the worst of the times. So so so not fair. And so difficult when you are not near as well. I hope everything settles down now and that she, and you can take a deep breath and relax, Helen.

I know how stressful it is when something happens to our loved ones and we are not nearby to help them deal with the problem. I trust that the local media has put out a report of the “modus operandi” of this pair to warn others.
So glad that the missing camera made its appearance and that the passport and bank book were not stolen.

It makes me so angry to read this. Glad you got your camera back.
