A Quiet Spring Day
Look what I found when I walked round the garden this morning! Proof that spring really is pretty much here. I should say that very quietly, we could still get more snow, but I really hope not. We’re forecast to get up to 20 degrees tomorrow. Amazing in March!
It’s quiet here today.
My son had an accident in sport at school yesterday, banged his head twice and has concussion. He’s still a bit woozy and has a bad headache. I’m monitoring the situation and got up every two hours in the night to check on him. Luckily he escaped having a night in hospital, but he’ll be staying home quietly till the end of the week.
I’m having a quiet morning – well, you would too if you’d been up half the night!
I’ve finished my March socks. Here they are…
Aren’t they gorgeous? I’m thrilled with them. I absolutely love the yarn and the colour – it’s Crown Mountain Farms Sock Hop Yarn in the Peggy Sue colourway. Sooooo pretty and the yarn is soft and delicious and such fun to knit. The pattern is just a plain vanilla sock of my own devising. No frills!
Hope you’re having a lovely spring day wherever you are (not in Australia of course!)

I’m so sorry about your son. I hope he’s better soon, with not too many lasting effects.

Hard to believe you have gone from a deluge of snow to pretty spring flowers in just a couple of weeks! Hope your son is okay x

Hope your son will be up and about soon – kids do have great resiliency.
The socks are lovely and the yarn certainly does not need any frills it stands out on its own.
Foggy and rainy here haven’t seen a sign of spring flowers yet but I am keeping my eyes open on my walks – the first snow drops usually appear in the messiest yard on the street – perhaps nature likes neglect???

Lovely socks!
What is it with boys and head injuries? I’ve lost count how often my son has banged his head. He fractured his skull at 16 months by falling down the front door step!

I love the pictures of the flowers. . .. need to get a picture of my daffodils before they start getting droopy.
I hope your son is feeling much better today (and that you get to catch up on at least some missed sleep).
With all the pictures of socks being made in blogland I just have to try at least one pair. I’m not much of a knitter (I crochet much better) so they may take me forever; but I’ll never know if I don’t at least try.

Sounds like it’s shaping up for a lovely spring day! Hope your son feels better soon, and avoids those dangerous blood sports… oh no, wait, it was rowing when I got a concussion, so maybe none at all? lol

Lovely to see the spring – it’s stil too cold for anything to poke its head out! Including me.
Hope your son is OK.

What a lovely find…I just love those spring blues, yellows, purples!
Have a pop over to my blog to see my new spring knit inspired by the blue and yellow tones of Spring.
Hope you soon is feeling better, you must have been so worried.

After seeing the horrendous news from over your way this morning, I think it makes us all the more happy about keeping loved ones close xxx

Lovely spring day, for sure, minus the injured son and lack of sleep. Hope all is well with his head, soon.

Why do they always have to hit their heads when they have accidents? Nightmare. All mine have whacked their heads at various times and it’s so scary. However, there was no lasting damage. I do hope your son feels better soon and makes a speedy recovery.
My lilies vanished without trace – I planted loads our first year here! I have daffs out, snowdrops and crocuses, and the hyacinths are just starting to stick their heads up. The weather is wonderful – we’ve gone from minus 20 to plus 20 in 4 weeks, and I know which I like best!

Hope your son recovers quickly! Your socks are beautiful! Such a pretty color and those spring flowers are rather gorgeous too. Tulips here in Wisconsin are just thinking about starting to open due to our early spring.
