Doing the happy dance…at least on one count!
Hallelujah! My green spotty fabric finally arrived today and despite my trepidation IT WORKS! Or at least I think it does! I’m rather relieved, to put it mildly. In the words of gertie’s comment a couple of days ago….this is an aaaahhh and not an aaargghhh moment!
So now I have an awful lot of cutting out to do to try to catch up with the others making the Soda Pop quilt. I actually can’t wait to see how the lovely, lovely Sweetwater fabrics turn out!
The only downside to today’s delivery was that I also got my Kona Snow, which is what I THOUGHT I needed for my Zigzag quilt. I would have sworn blind that I was using Kona Snow – but it turns out that Kona Snow isn’t white….it’s cream…..duh! I have found some white leftovers at the bottom of the odds and ends basket that look like they will pass muster though, so all is not lost. But I am now the proud? possessor of a large quantity of lovely Kona Snow that I don’t need. Cream always comes in handy though – right?
Happy sewing to all of you out there!
Helen

So glad to hear that you got at least one of your orders. I was actually wondering about the Kona Snow, as I remember ordering it at one point too and was disappointed to find out that it’s more beige or off white than white. Strange name if you ask me!

OK, so Kona need to change the name of that fabric. Where in the world do you see cream snow?? Not anywhere I wanna go!!
Snow = WHITE. Any 3 year old can tell you that.
I made the same mistake. *shakes head* Thankfully only bought 2 metres.
Love the green.

I use Kona Snow all the time. You may find you grow to love it and find all sorts of uses for it.

Kona snow looks like a nice off-white on the screen – a while ago I bought a bolt of Moda snow thinking that it was white and that is REALLY cream. Unfortunately I had already bought a bolt of Moda fig tree cream so now I have a heck of a lot of cream. However I do find that I much prefer quilts that break up a fabric line with white or cream – it just might take me a while to get through 2 bolts!

Kona white is white – I’ve been using it for my red work quilt. Just ordered some of the snow for my hexagon table runner where white would be too much of a contrast (I am in love with hexagons – so much fun and so precise with the English paper piecing). I am sure that your snow fabric won’t go to waste as we can always use neutrals. So glad that the green fabric works (I knew it would).

Of course snow isn’t white, look at all the animals that piddle on it 😉 The PFD white is slightly creamy as well, just as a heads up (I’m presuming because it’s unbleached or less bleached to allow the dye to take up)
Glad the green matched anyway…

Kona snow will go really nicely with your Sweetwater and Summersville leftovers. It is a lovely ivory colour for those fabrics which don’t have a real white in them. You need a Kona colour card for your orders, well worth the investment.

Yay for the green, I’m sure the snow will find a place soon enough x

Hey! Congrats on the green spotty! You’ve been waiting for that forever!

Don’t worry about the snow – you will use it. I like it because it is just a bit softer than white, and works better in some quilts.

It’s funny how quickly you can find a solution when something doesn’t match: love that. And The green looks really nice!
