The Brits got it right…
So the Olympics are over….I actually feel rather sad, not to mention a bit exhausted after the exhilaration of last night’s closing ceremony. I can’t imagine how wiped out I’d be if I’d actually been there!
One thing I will say though is that if nothing else, in a time of economic doom and gloom and dire straights, the Olympics really did cheer up the whole British nation.
Well done Seb Coe and co.
You might enjoy this final little offering from Team GB. It certainly made me smile!

We went to the local park to watch on the big screens. I think the stadium would have been too big, park was just enough crowd & not as boring as watching at home. Was great fun. My partner has 2 days off this week then straight into the Paralympics.
We are looking forward to our holidays after that!!

Loved the closing ceremonies – upbeat and good fun. Was reading all the crap comments from the never happy people on the telegraph website this morning. Ar some people just here in the world to be negative?!

Yes, it was a fabulous few weeks, back to earth with a bump now!

The Olympics were fabulous. I can’t wait for the paralympics as I’m suffering serious televised sport withdrawal symptoms!

I have always maintained that no one does pomp and ceremony like our British cousins.
