Unwanted Visitors
My apologies to those of you who stopped by in the last few days to read about quilts and knitting and found that my blog had been invaded by the Turkish martyrs. I was a little taken aback myself, I can tell you!
I had one of those moments when I was just soooo glad that I don’t run the blog on my own server. I was right on the phone to my knight in shining armour – Eric, who designed the blog and who I guess you would call the webmaster and he took the whole problem out of my hands …..whew….it felt great to be rescued I can tell you. I wouldn’t have had the faintest idea what to do!
It seems that it wasn’t my blog per se that was attacked, but the joint server that it was running on. 150 or so websites were whammied at one fell swoop. Once the techies had sorted everything out and sent the Turkish martyrs packing, Eric moved the whole blog to another smaller and more secure server, so we hope that it won’t happen again.
I have no idea which supporters of the Turkish martyrs hacked my site – or even which Turkish martyrs we were talking about here. I just hope they’ve had their visit and won’t come back.
Now life can settle back into ordinariness. How nice!
Helen
