Well, to be honest everybody was out by a million miles, so in the end I did the random number thingy and number 16 was the winner!

Barcelona!
An hour and ten minute flight from Zürich (and a present for my husband’s birthday). My very first visit ever to Spain and Barcelona is fabulous. Everyone agreed that our visit was too short and we need to go back. It was also seriously cold (especially on the top of the hop-on, hop-off tourist buses and in the restaurants, which don’t seem to have any heating at all!).
The high points…..the fabulous Gaudi Cathedral (Segrada Familia) still under construction and utterly breathtaking, views of the city and last but not least a Barca masterclass (5-1 against Bilbao).
Now it’s back to reality and Christmas preparations and the snow for me!

Oh, didn’t you mention this a few posts back? I love Barcelona. We keep meaning to go as it’s one of the few places we can get from a local airport. Did you take the children or did you dare to leave them home alone?

I went to Barcelona years back when I was inter-railing around Europe with my fella at the time. The main thing I remember is that we couldn’t leave our rucksacks at the station luggage place since those were closed because of bomb threats so we had to lug them around the city all day in the heat.

Barcelona is next on our list (has been for a while, to be honest!) – hubby has been and I haven’t, so more inspiration to really go… so glad you all had a lovely time! AND the footie team won; what more could you want?!
