In the pink
Today in-between cooking, doing laundry and being a taxi driver I’ve managed to get the blocks sashed together for the Siblings Together quilt. Thanks for all your advice yesterday – I went with the majority and picked the darker fabric – and I’m really happy with the result.
So here it is…
Since taking the photo I’ve added another deeper border in the pink and pieced together the backing with the light pink spots and the deep border from the darker pink – which I discovered once I unfolded it! No photos of this stage yet I’m afraid, because my camera is playing funny buggers with me. Sometimes it does this and then after a sleep it co-operates again…
So now I just need to get down on my knees and do some lovely basting. My absolutely least favourite job in quilt-making.
But enough for today. Now it’s dinner and Call the Midwife (my new favourite TV series!) and some gentle sock-knitting. And bed. Early. Ready for the rigours of work in the morning.

Seeing it on the dark I think you made the right call! And I am always a fan of cornerstones. What a cheery quilt! x

Oh no I’ve missed half of Call the Midwife, which I LOVE (although I’ll miss Chummy)!! So I have to be quick – great job with the quilt, good luck with the basting.

Looking good as I knew it would. Have a wonderful week at work. I’ll be sock knitting (this time for hubby who feels like the shoemaker’s son since all the other men in the family got socks for Christmas) and watching Downton Abbey in a few hours.

LOVE it!! I will patiently wait until your camera decides to give us a peek at what you did on the borders. Have a wonderful work-week!

I love the look of this quilt, it’s so girly without being too sweet. I really like the darker sashing.

Absolutely gorgeous, Helen! I think I could actually do a wonky log cabin. š And Call the Midwife? I said “waaaahhh!” when the first season ended here. LOVED it. xxoo
