Nuremberg

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

We’ve been walking round Nuremberg in the sunshine. It’s a very interesting city – the location of the big National Socialist rallies of the 1930’s and the Nuremberg trials after the Second World War. Hitler built many monumental buildings here – several of which were only used for the rallies and most of which were never completed. 90% of the city was destroyed by Allied bombing, but has been rebuilt – much in the original style. Today it’s a beautiful city to visit – a little off the regular German tourist trail, but extremely interesting. Here are a few snippets to wet your appetite!

I hope your summer is being as much fun as mine!

You’re making me jealous now! As I type, I am looking out the window at a grey sky and torrential rain… oh Scotland – where is my summer!! I hope you continue to have a lovely relaxing time. A x

Oh, I love beautiful old German buildings – I spent a summer working in Augsburg when I finished university. We’re having a gorgeous summer here, too.
