OK, so I cheated…..
I know I said I wasn’t going to embark on another knitting project until the quilts were done…..but you know how it is…..I’m weak….and we’re having a movie week…..and I can’t sit and watch films without some knitting…..and I did finish the plaid quilt and it is stash yarn….and I’m not feeling guilty about it, honest!!!
I was tempted into starting a wrap cardigan just like the one I finished for my daughter…..
I’m using the same pattern – Knitting Pure and Simple‘s Neckdown Wrap Cardigan, and the yarn is by Manos del Uruguay and is kettle dyed pure wool, worsted weight. I can’t remember the name of the colour – but it’s no. 114 – something to do with flower meadows if I remember rightly. It isn’t as soft as the Malabrigo yarn I used last time, but I love the colours – there’s something about purples and blues and reds that just does it for me!
You can see from the progress I’ve made that we’ve been watching a lot of films. Well, it seems like a lot of films to me as I don’t usually watch any at all. Yesterday it was Last Chance Harvey with Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson, which was lovely. A very gentle romantic comedy of sorts, with lots of nice views of London. We followed it with Remember Me, starring the delectable Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame. A little slow at times, but we enjoyed it – I really didn’t see the ending coming though. That certainly shook us up.
I also managed to photograph the plaid quilt outside (no rain!) in daylight. So here it is again!
I hope you’re having a great summer week like I am!
Helen
