Wild Fiber
You haven’t heard much from me for the last few days because I’m away on my hols – in sunny southern California. In between all the studio tours and other touristy activities I found the most delightful gem – and passed a very happy hour at Wildfiber in Santa Monica. This is just the most delightful yarn store I think I’ve ever seen. It’s a good thing I don’t live nearby, because I can tell you I would be bankrupt pretty quickly. They have fabulous yarns – including lots of hand-dyes and Japanese yarns that I had never even heard of before. I was very strong-willed – mainly because of a suitcase space problem – and limited myself to buying four very special sock yarns and one skein of cashmere lace weight yarn to make a scarf with. One more thing I also have to say is that the service at Wildfiber was EXCELLENT – I’ve never been to such a friendly yarn store or one with more knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. There were a lot of kindred spirits there I can tell you! So if by any chance you are reading this – thank you Wildfiber ladies!
This is what I bought:
Aren’t they just fabulous? I’m absolutely itching to get knitting with them.
My crochet queen daughter also bought some scrummy yarn to make a very fetching beret – which is now all but done. Once she’s through I’ll post a picture so you can admire her handiwork.
That’s all from me for now. I’ll catch you later!
