2010 sock finish no.2

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Sitting out in the spring sunshine today I managed to finish these socks for Idefix. I used the Classic Socks pattern from Yankee Knitter Designs again – it’s a good one – the heel is great. The wool is from Regia. I didn’t worry about matching the stripes but just took it as it came, on the grounds that 11 year olds couldn’t care two hoots about such things and it pains me to pull off yarn and throw it away if I don’t absolutely have to. This is the second pair of socks I’ve made with this yarn. It’s nice to knit, is soft and wears well. It also doesn’t stretch too much.

This morning I finished the Martinique nine patch blocks. I’m reserving judgement (ie not moaning) until the production process is a little further down the road and I can see the effect of the hourglass blocks that I’m going to interspace. So watch this space…

I had a great training run in the sunshine this morning. The sunshine of the past few days has really been uplifting. Almost all the snow has finally gone and it was  heavenly. I felt really strong and we  running ladies just flew up the hills. Good thing really….the Zürich marathon relay is less than a month away…

Enjoy your weekend

Helen
