Blissing along
Day 3
My Bliss blocks are done and now I’m setting them all together with sashing and 2 1/2 inch Bliss blocks in the corners. Nine done and 21 to go. Maybe by tomorrow they will all be sewn and then I can start making decisions about borders and binding. I love this fabric…I’ve said that before, haven’t I?….sorry, but I really do….and what’s more, I have enough left over to make oh, another two quilts!! (Yes I did go a bit mad in the fabric purchasing department!) (Sorry this is a bit dark by the way, but it’s a very dark day and this was taken outside with as much light as possible!)
Otherwise, I’ve almost finished the second sleeve of Otello and I’ve cleaned the house a bit….
I should have been running today, but we’ve had thunderstorms off and on all day and I have a tight muscle in my leg, so not wanting to be struck by lightning or make my leg worse, I’ve played safe and stayed home…..which was actually a surprisingly hard decision to make, which I take as a good sign.
The children seem to be having a great time at French camp – I’ve had a couple of phone calls and some happy little sms and sent them all a big Fresspäckli today. For the non-Swiss Germans out there, that’s a box of sweets and crisps to see them through the dark days without home cooking. It is an absolutely essential part of camp life – to the point where my son was telling me last week already what size packing carton I needed to buy from the post office. Needless to say, I didn’t buy the extra giant-sized box. I am a mean mother who is in league with the tooth fairy!
Last night I watched ‘Wanted’ with Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy. I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Mr M, but unfortunately not enough to make me enjoy this film…which…was…awful….Just violence, violence and more violence really. I shall dispose of it PDQ before any of the children get their hands on it, if they haven’t already… So take note out there. If you like nice films, this is one to be avoided.
Anyway, back to the sashing I think….
Have a nice evening!
Helen
PS Don’t forget to check out Monday’s Giveaway Post – you still have a couple more days to enter!!!

Lovely lovely lovely quilt! I love Bliss, so summery and pretty.
Thank you for the heads up on “Wanted”. I first noticed Mr M in “Starter for Ten” where he played a rather charming geek. On your recommendation I shall avoid his latest offering and hope he does something nicer soon!

Your Bliss is looking “blissful”. I’m still guarding my Bliss Jelly Roll like a hawk ;)….. But I must use it soon, before I go off it, although I can’t imagine that would ever happen. Enjoy the rest of your week.
